Stellar pre-event in Arco with Rock Master's top climbers. The Rock Master 2010 program, which will take place in Arco from July 16 to 18, 2010, is a pre-event of the 2011 IFSC World Championship that will be held in Arco next year. Arco is preparing to host the biggest climbing event in years with a completely remodeled Climbing Stadium. At the center is the now legendary Rock Master artificial wall, with two transparent shells that cover the two large sheer walls where the Lead events will take place.
Between the two lead walls is the vertical wall for the Speed Climbing contests. All the top World Championship climbers and outsiders will be there. Here are just a few names to tempt experts: Fischhuber, Ondra and Hori for the men's boulder; Graftiaux, Noguchi, Abramchuk and Stöhr for the women's boulder; legendary Chris Sharma for the lead; and Hroza, Ropek, Swirk, Riepko, Styenkovyy and, above all, the Chinese team with its two world recorder holders Qixin Zhong and Cuilian He for the speed event. Rock Master is therefore getting ready to take the spotlight from July 16 to 18 and is sure to be sensational. Arco's Climbing Stadium will be invaded by "The Lords of World Climbing" in what will be the 24th edition of Italy's most important rock climbing competition and the pre-event of the IFSC World Championship, which will be held in Arco from July 15 to 24, 2011.
New for Rock Master 2010 is the "Team Speed" which will be a medal event at the 2011 World Championship. For the fabulous finale, Rock Master 2010 has confirmed the duel in the Lead contest, a battle to the "last hold" on two parallel walls where speed and difficulty (they are all 8a plus category courses) unite to create an exciting, spectacular event. It will be a worthy conclusion for this pre-event with only the top 8 athletes in the Lead category competing (next year, there will be 16).
