Goethe was the first German "tourist" captivated by enchanting lake Garda. He wrote on September 12, 1786: "I could have traveled to Verona this evening, but I would have missed a marvel of nature, an enchanting spectacle: Lake Garda. I didn't want to miss it, and I was magnificently repaid for this detour." The great Romantic poet was just one of the first of a huge number of visitors who cross the Alps each year to admire the environmental, cultural, and artistic beauty of Lake Garda.
This led to the idea for this year's festival in Tremosine: creating a dialog through music between two extraordinary cultures - German and Italian - for which Lake Garda is an ideal moment of unity and communication. It is an exciting, "easy" theme because it concerns two countries that were the birthplaces of most of the world's musical masterpieces. The three concerts of this music festival famous for its research will feature pieces by famous composers who have made history and also unknown authors worthy of attention.
