Lake Garda will be decorated in the colors of the Italian flag when the event European Championship for diversely-abled sailors will be held at Gargnano from May 24 to 29, and for the 61st Centomiglia, scheduled for the weekend of September 11 and 12, 2011. The 61st Centomiglia race of Lake Garda and the European Access Championships 2011 have begun their worldwide promotional tour. The tour will present the continental regatta for diversely-abled sailors, which will be held at Gargnano on Lake Garda from May 24 to 29 with the ?Open? formula because Australia's national Paralympic team and representatives from the "Old Continent" will also be competing.

The auxiliary events of the 61st Centomiglia race of Lake Garda will begin on September 4 with the Gorla Trophy-50 Miglia del Garda race, will continue with the 100Week, and will conclude with the 5th edition of the Childrenwindcup, a festive regatta for the kids of the Children's Hospital of Brescia, made possible through the cooperation of ABE (The Association of Hemopathic Children).
The actual 61st Centomiglia race will take place on the weekend of September 11 and 12. The race logo will be in red, white and green in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, and the slogan will be "Sailors of Italy - Skippers of the World".

The European championship for diversely-abled athletes, the "European Access Championships 2011", follows "Homerus", the first unassisted World Championship race for the visually impaired held in 2010.
It is part of the international "Benaco4All project", which was created to promote various sports activities and involves the IFDS (International Foundation of Disabled Sailors) and the sailing therapy projects "EOS La Vela per Tutti-Michele Dusi" of Verona, "Hyak Onlus" of CPS of Salò, and "Archè" of Trento. All the races will take place between Bogliaco and Gargnano and will be organized by the Gargnano Yacht Club.
