The Benacus Cultural Association, in cooperation with Promobenacus Produzioni and the Look & Style fashion agency, is organizing for the 6th year in a row one of the most colorful and curious artistic events in Italy: an art show dedicated to body painting. The event will be held on Saturday, July 9, in the splendid setting of the Villa Carrara Bottagisio Park in Bardolino on Lake Garda. The theme for 2011 is ENERGY.
This is the most colorful event on Lake Garda and the only international event of its kind in Italy, where artists specialized in body painting meet in a friendly contest, demonstrating their talent using brushes, sprays, or special effects. The public, which arrives in greater numbers each year, apparently appreciates the talent and skill of the painters who in just a few hours transform their models into living works of art. The 2011 Italian Body Painting Festival will take place in Bardolino on Lake Garda on Saturday, July 9, and Sunday, July 10.
The Villa Carrara Bottagisio Park, directly overlooking the splendid lakefront boulevard, will host the event. A great number of tourists and fans of this art form have free access to the Festival. The event is mainly characterized by the body painting contest on Saturday, July 9, in which the top Italian and international artists will compete. At the same time, there will be a photo exhibit on painted bodies, several musical performances, and more. In the evening, the awards ceremony will take place at 9:00 p.m. on the main stage, and the top artists of the contest will be announced. On Sunday, July 10, besides the photo exhibit there will also be a workshop on body painting techniques that is open to experts and the general public to promote this fascinating art form.
The 2011 edition is also an interesting event for photo bugs that can immortalize the artists' creations competing in the contest. For better results, authorized photographers can use a special photo set where, one after another, the models/works of art will pose.
